The rain this morning meant the track was not completely dry until lunchtime and it was after one o'clock before Rossi left garage in the 2010 YZR-M1. World Champion, who was 31 in ten days, completing 32 laps and set a best time of 2'00, 925, just half a second slower than the pole time record for the song, set last year. Lorenzo put in a few laps in the afternoon but the track was still wet in places and so he, too, waited until after lunch to really get started. 22 years made great progress from yesterday and felt much more comfortable on the bike, finishing third fastest in 2'01, 680 after 60 laps.

"After yesterday's second day was very nice as well, although we lost a few hours for the rain, and finally we were able to complete all our work. We are working on a new bike to find a better arrangement and I am pleased to be the fastest on the whole -- although this test is only important for me! In the next test, we'll have some new things but we're happy because we're fast and strong. There is room to improve, of course; Sepang has always been a good track for Yamaha, so we must wait until Qatar to obtain a better understanding of our level, but we have made a good start. "
